Washington’s 1332 Waiver Gets National Attention

Get the inside scoop from NoHLA advocates Emily Brice and Lee Che P. Leong in a conversation with Community Catalyst’s Katherine Villeda about the advocacy efforts that resulted in the historic approval of Washington’s 1332 waiver that will expand health coverage to immigrants in 2024. Community Catalyst’s blog post recognizes the significance of the waiver, noting that it paves the way for “future opportunities for states to take on bold measures toward health equity” and “expands the approaches advocates can explore at the state level to increase access to affordable, quality health coverage for immigrants.”

Tomorrow (1/27), Lee Che will be recognized for her work on this campaign as a “Health Justice Advocate of the Year” by Families USA. Congrats again, Lee Che!
