Legal Intern

Position Summary
Legal Interns at NoHLA will be exposed to a variety of projects related to health law, administrative law, and poverty law for all Washingtonians who experience systemic barriers to health. Our team is committed to offering you excellent mentorship and educational opportunities. Duties may be performed remotely, hybrid, or in our downtown Seattle home office.
This 10-week internship may be offered for-credit externship or interns will be given a stipend of up to $8,000.
What You'll Do
- Legal research and writing
- Draft and edit public education materials
- Attend advocacy coalition meetings
- Draft comments on proposed changes to agency regulations
- Legislative or Congressional analysis
- Comparison of Washington State health programs with other states’ health programs
- Preparing and delivering oral presentations on health care issues
- Policy research on health care issues (e.g., draft reports and conduct surveys)
What We're Looking For
- Academic standing as a rising 2L or 3L during summer 2026.
- Interest in advancing health care justice.
- Excellent research, analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
- Ability to commit at least 30 hours per week for at least 10 weeks.
