Last month, we featured a new survey on health care affordability in Washington state with significant findings. Commenting on the findings in a recent Milbank Memorial Fund article, Sue Birch, director of the Washington State Health Care Authority and chair of the Health Care Cost Transparency Board, said “Community voices are key to the work of reducing health care costs. We’re excited to see this partnership between Altarum and our Washington consumer advocates. This kind of work helps keep the focus where it belongs — on providing affordable access to health care — especially for our most vulnerable populations.”
More than 60% of people surveyed in Washington and Nevada reported that they experienced health care affordability burdens within the last 12 months and at the same time, expressed strong support for government-led change across party lines.Read the NoHLA press release on Washington’s survey results released last month.
