"I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver."
- Maya Angelou, renowned poet, author, and activist
August is National Make-A-Will Month. It's a meaningful time to consider the people, communities, and causes we want to support for years to come.
Did You Know?
Your commitment to health justice can continue beyond your lifetime through planned giving (also known as legacy giving). A planned gift can be set up through your will or estate plan.
Planned Giving to NoHLA
A gift through your will or estate plan can help sustain NoHLA's work for future generations of Washingtonians.
You can create a plan that works for you. For example, some supporters choose to leave a percentage of their estate, allowing them to care for loved ones while also supporting the causes that matter to them.
Why Give?
A planned gift ensures that your commitment to health care for all continues beyond your lifetime. Your generosity will help strengthen and sustain our work toward health justice, such as:
- timely legal analysis
- multilingual resources
- litigation tracking
- advocacy when access to health care is under threat
NoHLA's website, newsletters, and posts offer a small sample of all that community support, including planned gifts, makes possible.
Giving can also provide mental and physical health benefits for the giver:
Research consistently shows that acts of giving release “feel-good” chemicals in the brain, including dopamine, oxytocin, and serotonin. . . . But the benefits don’t stop there. Regular acts of kindness are linked to lower blood pressure, reduced risk of chronic disease, and improved immune function. (Source: Psychology Today)
