TAKE ACTION (30 seconds!): Click send on this pre-written message to support immigrants in this critical time.
All of the coronavirus legislation enacted to date—including the Families First and the CARES Acts— has left many low- and moderate-income immigrants out of both public health and stimulus policies.
Much more needs to be done to ensure that everyone has access to the health care, nutrition and income support they need.
Negotiations in Congress are now underway for additional relief to reflect the scale of this emergency crisis. While the shape of future legislation is still to be determined, it is time for Congress to address the needs of immigrants in the next package. We hope you will join us in reaching out to your representatives in this key moment to advocate that Congress:
- Expand health care coverage for all, regardless of immigration status. Ensure COVID-19 testing, treatment, and vaccines (when available) are covered through emergency Medicaid.
- Expand immigrant access to the stimulus rebates and remove the SSN requirement.
- Halt implementation of the public charge rules.
